Quiet Times

Dec 23rd, 2009

Happy Holidays from myself here in my little world of Gali!

The next week or two may either be very quiet or very busy on here, depending on how I spend my free time away from work.

As a random aside, I find myself playing Torchlight, a game from developers that had been involved in Hellgate:London (and therefore Diablo II) and a little known title called Fate. In fact, from what I’ve read about Fate, and seen in Torchlight so far, it sits squarely between Diablo II and Fate in how it’s put together, with a number of (good) design choices ripped straight out of those games. And all of this has a bit of the look-and-feel and interface influenced from MMOs such as WoW, though not too much so that I have to burn out my eyes out of guilt…

The only disappointing thing about the game is that I originally bought it as it claimed it would run on netbooks, since I am planning to be taking my trusty Gigabyte netbook with me when visiting family this season. As fun as the game is, it really does struggle on my netbook – which is perhaps slightly above average in terms of its specification. This is a shame, but I guess I’ll live.
